About Katie
In 2001, after a serious car accident in Ghana, I was told I might never walk again due to significant spinal injuries. Defying the odds, I walked out of the hospital just five days post-operation.
This remarkable recovery marked the beginning, not the end, of my journey. Over the years, I've navigated the complex aftermath of my accident, confronting physical limitations and emotional challenges.
More recently I have also come through cancer.
My experiences led me to study Medical Coaching, transforming my ordeal into a mission to support others through their health crises.

No two coachees are the same. Every individual is dealing with a unique set of circumstances and requires their very specific style and pace of coaching.
The content of coaching conversations should remain confidential.
The coachee is best placed to define for themselves what they want and therefore to be empowered to move towards it.
All individuals are naturally creative, accountable, resourceful and whole.
Everyone should be aware of their options and choices. Furthermore, they should be actively encouraged to take a participative role in deciding their medical/health journey.
The coachee’s medical team is sacred. The Coach works in parallel to the coachee’s medical entourage, supporting them to be optimally resourceful and resilient, as well as to address adherence issues as they progress through treatment and recovery.
It’s important to focus on the healing aspect of an illness/medical situation. We consider healing to be a physical, emotional, mental and spiritual process of returning to an authentic, positive and grounded sense of self and become whole (as opposed to feeling fundamentally broken).
